Back From California
Yesterday I returned from what felt like a rather long week in Los angeles. I spent most of the week in the gallery working on a installation titled 'Ye Olde Oaktown'.
I did have a few days to stretch my legs and have a stroll around the weirdness of L.A.
I took a few photographs and they can be seen on my Ahoy Land Ahoy blog.
The best part of the trip was just being at the gallery and hanging out with the other artists and gallery staff who were rad. Thanks to french for bringing together a fantastic group of artists.

Catch A Wave
I'm not sure if I will be catching any waves but I am off to L.A. the home of the Beach Boys. My friend French invited me to take in a interesting exhibition titled 'Close To A World Below'. I'm to going show some ink drawings and a site specific piece. Hopefully if I have time I will make a trip to Hawthorne to pay homage to the greatest band in the world.

Draw
Monster Children Gallery presents DRAW
AN EXHIBITION BY FRENCH, STEFAN MARX & MARCUS OAKLEY
Three similarly different drawing styles meet in Draw with French, Stefan Marx and Marcus Oakley at Monster Children Gallery. Collectively, their work conjures earlier established themes and imagery mined from a myriad of sources. Interestingly, musical tastes come through in each of the artists work. Each has their own specific way of presenting this in their work. Whether it’s a portrait of a folk musician, a scrawled lyric from a favourite song, or a goat’s head.
Opening Night: THURSDAY 19TH AUGUST 6.00PM
Continues: 20TH AUGUST – 9TH SEPTEMBER, 2010.
Monster Children Gallery
20 Burton St, Darlinghurst
Gallery Hours: 12pm – 6pm Wednesday to Saturday.

DISORDER DISORDER
This week is the opening of Disorder Disorder an epic group exhibition curated by my friend Joseph Allen Shea. Its taken him a few years of hard work for his vision to come to fruition, and I think he has put together a fascinating combination of artists and I am indeed honoured to be taking part.
