The Illustrated Ape Magazine

The new 1976 issue of The Illustrated Ape is now in the shops. I think its a really fun issue. I was asked to be the illustration editor and so I enjoyed working with New Future Graphic and selecting the illustrators.

It features great work by Jethro Haynes, Simon Peplow, Lizzie Finn, Holly Wales, french, Petra Borner, Nigel Robinson, Supermundane and many more.

The Sunflower Band

Since early 2003 I have been working on a music project called The Sunflower Band. The original idea of the project was to somehow interpret my drawings and paintings into music.

Yesterday I picked my bike up from being fixed, I'm glad to have my trusty fold-up bike back and ride around the streets of london. anyway I think bicyles are great.

With Marcus Walters from New Future Graphic I have been working on the special 1976 issuse of The Illustrated Ape Magazine, I think its going to be a fun issue. This is a drawing of Burt Reynolds which is going to be part of a 1976 fashion article.

Blank Tape Spillage Fete

The Blank Tape Spillage Fete is a music/art project by Mat Fowler and Matt Hunt, this image is from the new book about the project. Mat and Matt sent out cassettes to musicians and artists and asked them to make some music and then make artwork related to the music that was created.

I did this portrait of Carl Wilson from the Beach Boys for my show in milan, I really like the Beach Boys I listen to them most days. Carl was great at singing, the most famous song he sang was God Only Knows.

Home Time

A few weeks ago I had a show in Milan at the Go gallery, the show was called Home Time, I had fun in Milan and everyone was very nice to me, the show was a mixture of drawing, painting, sewing, collage and I also made some mobiles.

The Birdman

So then, here is the Birdman which is being used in adverts for pointer footwear, he took three weeks to make, I built him in my kitchen, it was like having a strange flatmate for a while.
